TV Recap: A Million Little Things – Lost Sight of the Horizon …

A Million Little Things
“Pilot” (Episode 101)
September 26, 2018

I’m not sure there are enough words for me to be able to thoroughly explain my excitement for A Million Little Things. I’ve been awaiting its arrival a little more than 3 months ever since I saw the first trailer. I knew this show was going to be something special. As I saw more & more about the show, I became more and more excited not only was it going to be special but honest, or at least that is my hope for the show. From the Pilot it didn’t disappoint.

A Million Little Things is brought to us by writer and creator DJ Nash (Truth Be Told; Growing Up Fisher). After someone close to Nash took their life, he knew he needed to do something with how he was feeling. Later in the my recap I will touch on a parallel between JFK Jr’s plane crash and depression, this was written by Nash after the loss of his friend trying to understand how he felt. Nash knows where the season will go and has plans for where the series would go if they are lucky enough to be renewed for another season.

This show is going to touch on many heavy hitting topics; it’s not going to be for everyone but give it a chance. AMLT is going to touch on depression, suicide, marriage, friendship, and more — the highs and lows of life.

So now we will begin into the deep dive of A Million Little Things, you’ve been warned spoilers await…

TV Recap: The Bold Type – Never Walk Away From Love …

The Bold Type
“We’ll Always Have Paris” (Episode 210)
August 7, 2018

I’m finally doing this, recapping the season finale of The Bold Type. Even though I’ve watched the finale three times, putting words to computer for the recap was something I may have been avoiding a bit.

A few things about me, I almost didn’t go to my high school graduation because I wasn’t ready for it to be over. Because, to be graduating meant starting something new. Change and new are hard for me. Another example? I have three books that were sooo good that I didn’t read the end; maybe one day, but that day isn’t today.

When I really like something, I have a habit of avoiding the “end.” So, by not writing this recap then I don’t have to think about how I have to wait ten months before I can recap more episodes of TBT.

Alas, I can only put this off so long [Ed. Note: So long before her editor’s head explodes =)]; soon, Fall season premieres will begin. So, I’m pulling off the band aid and I’m recapping “We’ll Always Have Paris.”  I can do this, ten months isn’t so long. So now that you know a little more about me here …

Oh, wait. Catch up with what happened in the previous episode, “Trippin’” here.  Caught up? memory Jogged? Great! Without further adieu, let’s go to Paris….if you haven’t watched the finale yet you should know there are spoilers ahead.

TV Recap: Reverie – Burn …

Reverie
“The Key” (Episode 109)
August 1, 2018

Read up on the details on what happened in last week’s Reverie here

The biggest shock of last week’s episode, okay, well, I guess there were two big shocks, was first, Mara has been seeing Chris as a derealization and only realized this after she was with program Chris and received a phone call from human Chris and the derealization turned into Ray. WHAT?!?! The second shock was Oliver Hill had the shady security guard steal him a program tablet to only go inside the program and collapse without explanation at a bar. WHAT?!?!?

Oliver Hill saying apertus is where we left off last week and now we will begin with The Key (Spoilers ahead – be warned)!!!!

TV Recap: The Bold Type – “Fromage”

The Bold Type
“Trippin” (Episode 209)
July 31, 2018

As I sit here to reflect on last week’s episode before diving into this week’s episode, I turned to Dagny’s version of Landslide and am immediately filled with a warm fuzzy feeling. I want to touch on the use of background music in each episode bringing us new artists and remakes of classics. Each week I am reminded of all the reasons I became a fan last Summer; most importantly, the show is super relatable.

Before reading any further, make sure you are caught up on last week’s action with my deep dive recap & review here.  All done? Good.  Let’s dive into tonight’s episode which leads us to our first ever run in with the infamous Babs Brady. As always spoilers ahead.

TV Recap: Reverie – Farewell …

Reverie
“Despedida” (Episode 108)
July 25, 2018

During last week’s episode of Reverie,we saw what happens when an “East Berlin” takes place – that’s the name when two Reveries cross paths. Mara had to work to help Ehmet who was being held by a branch of the Department of Defense and being interrogated by a pilot program using Reverie. The DOD believed Ehmet was a part of a terrorist cell but they were sorely mistaken. Thankfully, with the help of her team, Mara was able to go back into Ehmet’s Reverie and get out via the Mandala. When Mara returned from the program she had a large bruise on her side from being shot while in the program. We don’t know how long this effect will last; Paul wasn’t comfortable with it but didn’t say so. By the end of the episode we can almost safely say Monica Shaw is team Onira Tech and made sure the interrogation seen in the East Berlin wouldn’t happen. Oh, Chris and Mara got “friendly” after dinner at the end of the episode.

Well here we go for “Despedida” which is Spanish for “farewell“; we begin … after the jump (Spoilers Beware)!

TV Recap: The Bold Type – “The Fleetwood Mac Song”

The Bold Type
“Plan B” (Episode 208)
July 17, 2018

Last week was episode “Betsy,” which I can’t wait to write up. As a brief overview, Jane found Sutton’s shotgun which Sutton named Betsy in high school. Jane who is opposed to having guns around  tries to be open minded about Sutton’s love for Betsy and why she enjoyed shooting skeet. Although she can’t come around on the topic, Sutton makes a compromise. Jane also furthered her relationship with Ben and speaking of relationships, Adena made a ground rule to allow Kat to experiment with her sexuality. Sutton had a bit of a hiccup with one of her connections for an item for a shoot but Oliver handled it.

Now we head into this week’s episode and it’s a bit heavy hitting as well. Spoilers ahead if you haven’t watched.

TV Recap: Reverie – “East Berlin”

Reverie
“The Black Mandala” (Episode 107)
July 18, 2018

Last week’s episode, we saw Holly having to choose between the life she had to give up because of an accident and the world she wasn’t sure she wanted to be a part of anymore. After Mara was able to convince her that her sister needed her and that if she stayed she would end up dying in the program as well, she went back. We also met Chris — not only Holly’s therapist but also Mara’s ex-boyfriend, wondering if we will see more of him in the upcoming episodes. If they grow closer how will Paul handle that cause we can all clearly see that he really cares about Mara. Now if you thought I forgot, I didn’t, that big bomb they left us with at the end of the episode. Ray, he is still alive and I wonder how this will get tied into the upcoming episodes.

I hope you are prepared with all the essentials for this recap, it’s going to to be a long one. Without further adieu spoilers ahead.

TV Recap: Reverie – “I don’t want to leave”

Reverie
“Pas de Deux” (Episode 106)
July 11, 2018

We have survived the two week break for the Fourth of July. Last episode we saw Mara enter the program with Ashley who was in a coma and didn’t know she was in the Reverie program at first. By the end of the episode, lives were saved and Mara was able to help her come to terms with her passing and get one last message to her mom. Lexi went on a not so great first ride along with Charlie and, at the end of the episode, gave Charlie a glimmer into her past. Mara didn’t have any derealization moments during this episode but that doesn’t mean they are gone.

Before diving into the episode, I just want to touch on something or enlighten. “Pas de Deux” means a dance between two people. As you move up the ranks of ballet classes if you get the opportunity to partner it is known as pas de deux. Ballet took up a huge portion of my life and seeing the title of this episode, I knew it was going to hit home in some capacity.

Without further a due, it’s time to break down the episode (Spoilers Ahead – Be warned)!

End of Season 1 we left The Bold Type with Jane Sloan leaving her job at Scarlet for an up and coming digital magazine called Insight where she would get her own vertical. Kat was taking time off from her job to travel with Adena while she figures out her work Visa. And lastly, Sutton broke things off with Richard and is newly single but she snagged the job in the fashion department as Oliver’s new assistant and can’t wait to crush it in this new role.

I know this isn’t a ton of detail as far as season 1 goes but give me a little bit and I will have a full season 1 (broken into halves) posted soon. Watch for it… until then you can catch Season 1 & 2 on Hulu or the FreeForm app.

Let’s begin…spoilers ahead.
