End of Season 1 we left The Bold Type with Jane Sloan leaving her job at Scarlet for an up and coming digital magazine called Insight where she would get her own vertical. Kat was taking time off from her job to travel with Adena while she figures out her work Visa. And lastly, Sutton broke things off with Richard and is newly single but she snagged the job in the fashion department as Oliver’s new assistant and can’t wait to crush it in this new role.

I know this isn’t a ton of detail as far as season 1 goes but give me a little bit and I will have a full season 1 (broken into halves) posted soon. Watch for it… until then you can catch Season 1 & 2 on Hulu or the FreeForm app.

Here I am still playing catch up with my recaps; after this we will be all caught up and ready to go for the July 11th episode. As I sit here preparing for this recap I can’t help but think about how different our lives would be if a program like Reverie were actually available to us. It’s fun to imagine but as we see on the show there are downsides and dangers to the program. Each week we learn a new way the program can be utilized and this week is no different. Technology like this would need to have clear lines because in the wrong hands could be very dangerous.

Anyways, enough of my pondering thoughts and onto the recap. Last week we learned how the program can be used to breach security as well as overcome one’s daily challenges, this week we try to prevent crisis.

Alright, as you sit down to read this I know that you are aware that this recap comes a week late but if you are reading this you probably lead a very busy life as well and needed to make sure when you caught up, you got all the details. Nevertheless the recap is here – all 6 billion words of it. Each episode of Reverie is coming with new twists and turns, more reasons for the Reverie program and what it can do.

In episode 3 we got to see how the program can bring out things that the users have suppressed. We also learn about how the program is able to help others overcome things.  During episode 4, we will see more of this. So with that spoilers ahead and we are on our way.

TV Recap: Marvel’s Cloak & Dagger – Who You Is?

Can I tell you how much  I am loving Cloak & Dagger? A lot. I am loving it a lot. That was anti-climatic, I know.  The writing is so strong and the acting by these two young leads sells the viewer completely on the 8,000 emotions going on in any given scene.

More than that, they are taking their time with pacing and let the show unfold organically BUT, they are using fantastic narrative devices to do it.  Last week’s episode from two POVs and tonight’s “call” and “response” approach … it keeps you on your toes, it makes you pay attention. C&D is saying, “Hey, I am important and you need to put down your 3 other things you’re doing and watch me – or else you’re going to miss something good..” There is NOTHING rote or predictable about this show and man, can you ask for anything more?

TV Recap: Dietland – The Steps To Bangability …

Before you read on, make sure you’ve checked out our recap and review from last week’s episode here.

After a heavy introspective episode about Plum and her inner demons last week, tonight’s Dietland shifted its gaze outwards, turning its focus on both men’s perception of beauty as well as Jennifer and its growing influence as a movement. Lines are being drawn on whether Jennifer is a terrorist group or the acceptable expression of all women’s collective anger after a lifetime of shitty treatment by men.   In Plum’s life, she has to face the concepts of beauty vis a vis the idea of becoming bangable.

Few shows, if any, would attempt to even tackle these subjects. Even less shows would handle it with a modicum of the dignity and decency and nuance that Dietland pulls off on a regular basis.  If you are not watching this show, you’re doing it all wrong.
