A great night of TV, friends. Mr. Robot, of course is a must. But, we also have a new Vikings and the series premiere of Knightfall, a new History show that will chronicle the time of Knights Templar. But most excitingly, The Godfather, Part II, my favorite of the series, is on tonight!! So much TV, so little time!
Tonight on Supergirl, World Killer, Reign, makes her official, fully costumed, debut and she looks kind of badass. Also, we have new The Gifted, new The Good Doctor and new Robert Kirkman’s Secret History of Comic Books. So, lots of fun stuff to watch on Monday nights! Enjoy the new while you can as mid-season finales begin this week!
Friday nights are a little brighter now that we have Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. back on TV to accompany our normal Friday night MacGyver watching. In addition to these 2 staples, we have the awesome documentary, Hamilton’s America playing on PBS at 9; a must watch!
Arrow isn’t on tonight friends because, you’ll recall, it was on Monday night this week for the amazing Crisis on Earth-X crossover event. Which is fine because it frees up to watch A Charlie Brown Christmas (squee); Christmas done Disney style (squee), Football and Soccer … all in one night!!
Goddamn you Matt Lauer for taking the thunder away from the season premiere of Vikings tonight. Now I need to put your goofy face on the cover of my post instead of Lagertha in her Royal Viking Finery! You suck, Lauer! Also, Mr. Robot is on and the tree gets lit in Rockefeller Center, sans a certain alleged sexual predator.
If you’re watching anything other The Flash and DC’s Legends of Tomorrow tonight, you’re doing TV wrong. Tonight is the final 2 hours of the 4 show crossover which began last night. To catch you up, as Barry & Iris went to say “I do,” Nazi versions of Green Arrow (Dark Arrow) and Supergirl (Overgirl), both from Earth-X (the 53rd Earth no one ever visits), along with Earth 1’s Reverse Flash (Eobard Thawne wearing his Harrison Wells face) crash the nuptials with their Earth-X Nazi SS henchmen and cause all sorts of havoc. Their aim is to kidnap Supergirl so she can (unwillingly) donate her heart to Overgirl who is dying from too much sun radiation. Also, maybe, they want to conquer our Earth while they’re here for … the Fatherland. Also, Felicity told Oliver she doesn’t believe in marriage and doesn’t want to marry him. Oliver is … not handling this well.
Now you’re caught up, so watch the conclusion tonight! Here is what else is on TV.
If you have read any of our posts, you’ll know we love LOVE the Arrow-verse so you can imagine how excited we are for the now annual, multi show crossover event. Tonight, Parts 1 and 2 of 4 happen with Supergirl and then Arrow. Tomorrow, The Flash and DC’s Legends of Tomorrow finish up with Parts 3 and 4. Get excited people!! Invaders from Earth X AND Barry and iris’s wedding!! At 10pm, a Pentatonix Christmas and The Good Doctor.
Guys, it’s Thanksgiving so by the time prime time rolls around, I expect you all to be over stuffed from food and drink and half asleep on the couch of your choosing. But, if you’re still awake, here is our abbreviated What To Watch Tonight!! For our money, you can’t beat AMC’s Godfather Parts I and II marathon from 5:30p to 2a but here are some other top choices on this Holiday night!
‘Twas the night before Thanksgiving and we still have a new Mr. Robot so all is good this Wednesday night. But, we also have a Charlie Brown hour, a music festival and a behind the scenes look at the impact of Holiday movies. Plenty to watch as you’re prepping your bird for tomorrow.
Before we get to the holiday merriment, we at Pop Culture Review want to say goodbye to David Cassidy, one of the classic pop idols of American culture. The boy every girl wanted to date in the 1970s, passed away yesterday at the age of 67 from organ failure. The breakout star of the 1970s groovy hit series, The Partridge Family, Cassidy rose to fame playing Keith Partridge and he, along with his TV family had several chart topping music hits. The biggest single, I Think I Love You, had Cassidy on lead vocals and sold more than 5 million copies. His daughter, Katie Cassidy, is a PCR favorite as Laurel Lance/Black Canary/Black Siren on Arrow and the Arrow-verse shows. RIP Mr. Cassidy.
