Who has 5 hours each week to watch your favorite superhero shows, amiright? Well, we do and each week, we break them down for you and let you know what’s going on … Across the Arrowverse!
This week included the season premiere of DC’s Legends of Tomorrow so now, all 5 shows are officially off and running.
Soon, we’ll be adding a companion podcast to Across the Arrowverse to focus on certain storylines and developments across the shows but, in the meantime, enjoy our recap of each of this week’s Supergirl, Arrow, DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, The Flash and Black Lightning.
Last week, Spencer was trying so hard to save the world, he forgot to save himself first. And as a result, he made a crucial error and cost Beverly Hills an important game. Also, we got more proof that Billy really is Spencer’s biological dad and Coop is rolling hard now with Shawn’s crew – her own way of protecting herself with Spencer gone. Get the full recap here.
On to tonight’s episode, “i,” … after the jump (BEWARE OF SPOILERS)!
All American
“99 Problems” (Episode 102)
October 17, 2018
Last week, we met Spencer James and learned that he’s kind of a football God, good enough to be recruited to come play ball in Beverly Hills (which may or may not be really against the rules). His whole story is recapped here!
Now, on to the next chapter of Spencer’s story … BEWARE OF SPOILERS!
All American
“Pilot” (Episode 101)
October 10, 2018
All American, airing on The CW, is one of the hottest new shows of the Fall. From April Blair (Into the Badlands; YOU; Reign), who serves as Executive Producer along with Greg Berlanti (the Arrowverse), All American tells the story of a high school football phenom who moves from his home in Crenshaw, California to play ball at Beverly Hills High School. It follows his ups and down as he navigates a world radically different from the one he’s known before.
The show is based on the life of Spencer Paysinger, a professional football player, and stars Daniel Ezra as the phenom, Spencer James, and Taye Diggs as the coach that recruits him.
Our recap of the series premiere follows and our review is at the end. Spoilers, we really enjoyed the show!
Welcome to Across the Arrowverse, a new weekly round up everything that happened this week in the 5 DC superhero shows that air on The CW. We are including Black Lightning in the Arrowverse though its not been explicitly included but c’mon, it’ll happen eventually. And even if it doesn’t, well, you still want to know what’s going on with the Pierce family, admit it! Formate wise, we are going to briefly (for me anyway) recap each episode and then at the end, summarize any cross show references you need to be aware of (e.g., tonight’s The Flash had several Legends of Tomorrow references)
This week saw the season premieres of The Flash and Black Lightning with the other shows coming online in the next two weeks.
