TV News: Put Pilot Commitment
Breaking News
October 18, 2018

The popular Israeli series, Beauty and the Baker, is getting an American adaptation called The Baker and the Beauty. ABC has given the new series, a romantic comedy, a put pilot commitment.

The American version is being written by Dean Georgaris (The Meg; The Brave) and the pilot will be directed by David Frankel (Manifest; The Devil Wears Prada). Both men will serve as executive producers. Universal TV, in association with Keshet Studios, will produce.

In a brief conversation with Georgaris, he clarified to PCR (for those that may not know) that “a Put Pilot means the network has agreed to shoot the pilot or pay a penalty to the studio [if it decides not to air the pilot]. The penalty can range from several hundred thousand dollars to several million.”

This will be the second series in as many years that Georgaris teams up with Keshet and Universal, the production companies on his excellent military drama from last season, The Brave.

TV Recap: A Million Little Things – Lost Sight of the Horizon …

A Million Little Things
“Pilot” (Episode 101)
September 26, 2018

I’m not sure there are enough words for me to be able to thoroughly explain my excitement for A Million Little Things. I’ve been awaiting its arrival a little more than 3 months ever since I saw the first trailer. I knew this show was going to be something special. As I saw more & more about the show, I became more and more excited not only was it going to be special but honest, or at least that is my hope for the show. From the Pilot it didn’t disappoint.

A Million Little Things is brought to us by writer and creator DJ Nash (Truth Be Told; Growing Up Fisher). After someone close to Nash took their life, he knew he needed to do something with how he was feeling. Later in the my recap I will touch on a parallel between JFK Jr’s plane crash and depression, this was written by Nash after the loss of his friend trying to understand how he felt. Nash knows where the season will go and has plans for where the series would go if they are lucky enough to be renewed for another season.

This show is going to touch on many heavy hitting topics; it’s not going to be for everyone but give it a chance. AMLT is going to touch on depression, suicide, marriage, friendship, and more — the highs and lows of life.

So now we will begin into the deep dive of A Million Little Things, you’ve been warned spoilers await…

TV Recap: All American – Welcome to Beverly Hills …

All American
“Pilot” (Episode 101)
October 10, 2018

All American, airing on The CW, is one of the hottest new shows of the Fall.  From April Blair (Into the Badlands; YOU; Reign), who serves as Executive Producer along with Greg Berlanti (the Arrowverse), All American tells the story of a high school football phenom who moves from his home in Crenshaw, California to play ball at Beverly Hills High School. It follows his ups and down as he navigates a world radically different from the one he’s known before.

The show is based on the life of Spencer Paysinger, a professional football player, and stars Daniel Ezra as the phenom, Spencer James, and Taye Diggs as the coach that recruits him.

FBI
“Pilot” (Episode 101)
September 25, 2018

It’s a bright fall day in the South Bronx. Two brothers, Chris and Emmett Grant, raced down the street after school, heading for home. Chris stops when he sees his classmate Ginny.

Chris strikes up a conversation with Ginny, who comments he was babysitting. No, younger brother Emmett refutes. He wasn’t a baby and they were going to play Xbox and have meatball sandwiches.

The older brother hurries Emmett along, promising he’ll just be a minute. “It’s never just a minute,” grumbles Emmett as he goes up the steps into their building.

Alone at last, the teenagers talk about math homework and how Ginny doesn’t get algebra. Ginny asks to come up to Chris’s home so he could show her graphing equations when the windows in the building explode out, knocking the children off their feet.
