Who has 5 hours each week to watch your favorite superhero shows, amiright? Well, we do and each week, we break them down for you and let you know what’s going on … Across the Arrowverse!
This week included the season premiere of DC’s Legends of Tomorrow so now, all 5 shows are officially off and running.
Soon, we’ll be adding a companion podcast to Across the Arrowverse to focus on certain storylines and developments across the shows but, in the meantime, enjoy our recap of each of this week’s Supergirl, Arrow, DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, The Flash and Black Lightning.
What to Watch Tonight?!? So many options now on Sunday! Supergirl is Our Top Pick to Watch Tonight at 8 (with Doctor Who a close second). At 9, The Last Ship and The Walking Dead are neck and neck for the Top Spot and at 10, we’ve got all eyes on YOU! What will you be watching?
Last week, Spencer was trying so hard to save the world, he forgot to save himself first. And as a result, he made a crucial error and cost Beverly Hills an important game. Also, we got more proof that Billy really is Spencer’s biological dad and Coop is rolling hard now with Shawn’s crew – her own way of protecting herself with Spencer gone. Get the full recap here.
On to tonight’s episode, “i,” … after the jump (BEWARE OF SPOILERS)!
Our Top Pick to Watch Tonight is the Season 2 Premiere of Midnight, Texas. We missed the boat on this show last year but are committed to giving it a go in its new season. Also on, PCR Fave MacGyver, as well as Dynasty and an excellent PBS special series, Shakespeare Uncovered. The World Series too, if that’s your thing.
“Connecting Flights” (Episode 105)
October 22, 2018
If you haven’t caught up on all the episodes of Manifest, you can read the latest review here!
Last week, Saanvi and Michaela had similar visions of a stone angel [Ed Note: This is code for Scary Ass Weeping Angel from Doctor Who]. We also met Bethany and Thomas and learned that he was a stowaway on board the flight. Let’s add them to the list of passengers that we know.
Michaela Stone: police officer whose fiancé married her best friend while she was missing, Ben’s sister, hearing voices and seeing things since returning
Ben Stone: Michaela’s brother and father to Cal, hearing music and voices in his head since returning
Cal Stone: Ben’s son, Leukemia patient – condition hasn’t changed in 5 years due to flight, treatment from Saanvi’s research may cure him
Saanvi Bahl: Doctor, working on cancer research, led to breakthrough on cancer treatment 5 years prior, right before the flight. Now seeing things.
Radd: Went to Jamaica to play for philharmonic, left son behind
Kelly Taylor: Gave interviews with reporters, shot at end of episode 2. Dead.
Bethany Collins: flight attendant, helped Thomas leave Jamaica and come to the US
Thomas: Stowaway on Flight 828, dated Bethany’s cousin
What To Watch Tonight? If you’re into sitcoms, Football or Shonda Rhimes, you LOVE Thursday night TV. If not, well, maybe you can catch up on other stuff from earlier in the week. Here at PCR, we watch Supernatural and then nothing else really that’s on tonight. Our Top Pick To Watch Tonight, though, is the series premiere of Legacies, the latest spin off in the Vampire Diaries series. Also premiering tonight is The Case That Haunts Me on ID.
What To Watch Tonight? Riverdale is our pick for at 8pm and the excellent new series, All American, is our Top Pick To Watch at 9pm (check out our recap of last week’s episode here). And at 10pm, another excellent new series continues over on ABC with all new A Million Little Things.
“99 Problems” (Episode 102)
October 17, 2018
Last week, we met Spencer James and learned that he’s kind of a football God, good enough to be recruited to come play ball in Beverly Hills (which may or may not be really against the rules). His whole story is recapped here!
Now, on to the next chapter of Spencer’s story … BEWARE OF SPOILERS!
What To Watch Tonight? Tuesday are the single best night of the week for TV. Across the board, you are at a minimum of three deep each hour of excellent dramas. A little less so tonight because the World Series begins and that knocks out any Fox programming, like The Gifted, normally a popular pick at PCR. At 8p, our Top Pick is The Flash (tonight has the return of Wells!). At 9, Black Lightning is our go to but we’ll be watching FBI also (check soon for our recaps). At 10pm, our heart belongs to New Amsterdam but we like The Rookie too (recaps comings).
