The Brave returns with another new episode tonight; prepare for some fallout from last week’s daring rescue of Jaz. Elsewhere, the epic Season 1 finale of The Gifted (2 hours worth!)’ the return of Supergirl from hiatus and new episodes of The Good Doctor and Scorpion.
We love Friday TV because we love MacGyver and Marvel’s Agent’s of S.H.I.E.L.D. but otherwise, we struggle to fill the night. So, we are going to give Taken a chance and see what happens. Otherwise, not much to look at here, friends.

“The Tales of the Seven Keys”
January 10, 2018
The Magicians returned tonight to start us on a new epic quest which will take a good season to play out. We were re-acquainted with all of our favorite Magicians and over the course of this single hour, heard more memorable lines than you’re likely to hear on any other show over the course of a whole season. The writing and delivery on The Magicians is so spot on, its equal parts, nerdy, fantastical, whimsical, badass-ical, sassy and sincere. Its like being lulled by a train smoothly rolling on its tracks with a rhythmic clackety clack that just sweeps you along for the ride. Anyway, more thoughts on this amazing episode and the season outlook at the end of the post. Grab some bacon, sit back and enjoy.
Warning: This is going to be a long post, so drink lots of water (you must be diligent about hydration) and buckle up. Before we meet the Great Cock of the Darkling Woods and embark on an Epic Quest with our friends, let’s talk about what happened before … Continue reading “TV Recaps: The Magicians – I’m Grace Park”
Today, NBC posted pictures for next week’s The Brave episode, “Grounded.”
This is the episode description given: “With Patricia (Anne Heche) out of commission, Noah (Tate Ellington) is at the helm of the D.I.A. when FARC revolutionaries take control of a flight in Colombia. When negotiations mean life or death for the passengers on board, Hannah (Sofia Pernas) must make her return to the field. Also starring Mike Vogel (Adam Dalton), Demetrius Grosse (Ezekiel “Preach” Carter), Noah Mills (Joseph “McG” McGuire), and Hadi Tabbal (Amir Al-Raisani). Guest Starring Brett Tucker (Dr. Xander Martin), Jonathan Medina (Lalo Mahecha), Idara Victor (Elena Bernal), Vannessa Vasquez (Mari Calera) and Jos Viramontes (Edgar Triana).”
From the pictures below, it seems like Jaz is undergoing some kind of rehabilitation and Campbell, from the description, isn’t quite cleared from outing Jaz’s identity in the last episode. Like we said in our recap of “Desperate Measures,” there will be consequences and ramifications! Continue reading “First Look: The Brave – Grounded (Ep 111)”
Today, we’re looking at 2 great movie trailers that came out 2 days ago but which we just got around to: Red Sparrow and the newest spot for Black Panther.
Because I’m excited for the show, I’ve also included the first trailer for Krypton (premiering on Syfy on March 21).
Magic Wednesdays are officially a thing. With The Librarians still chugging along for a few more weeks and season premiere of The Magicians tonight, we don’t even know what to do with ourselves. Add in more Vikings and Knightfall and Wednesdays are over flowing with watchable TV right now!
Rise, the new NBC drama set to premiere on Tuesday, March 20 at 9pm, will blow your doors off. Featuring heartfelt, sincere and impassioned performances from its leads, in particular Josh Radnor who stars as English teacher turned school theater director, Lou Mazzuchelli, Rise will make you experience highs and lows and all the feels in between.
While not packed wall to wall with songs like some may be anticipating (this is NOTGlee), when the young cast members do open their mouths, their voices are amazing; keep an eye out on Auli’i Cravalho (Moana), Damon J. Gillespie (Inside Amy Schumer but basically this is his first acting gig), Amy Forsyth (The Path) and Ted Sutherland (this looks like his first regular series but he’s had several one shot appearances including on Law & Order: SVU), as the breakout young cast members. Below are the first look photos from the Pilot Episode.
The official show info from the release … “From Jason Katims, executive producer and showrunner of “Friday Night Lights” and “Parenthood,” and “Hamilton” producer Jeffrey Seller comes a heartening new drama about finding inspiration in unexpected places. When dedicated teacher and family man Lou Mazzuchelli (Josh Radnor) sheds his own self-doubt and takes over the school’s lackluster theater department, he galvanizes not only the faculty and students but the entire working-class town. Inspired by a true story.
The cast includes Josh Radnor, Rosie Perez, Auli’i Cravalho, Damon J. Gillespie, Marley Shelton, Rarmian Newton, Ted Sutherland, Amy Forsyth, Casey Johnson, Taylor Richardson, Joseph Tippett, Shirley Rumierk.”
In honor of the return of new Arrow-verse shows next week and The CW’s Winter TCA this past Sunday where they clarified their scheduling plans, today The Daily Download is focusing on latest trailers for all of your favorite DC shows.
As for scheduling, in case you haven’t heard: Because Black Lightning will be airing in the Legends‘ normal 9pm, Tuesday night slot, DC’s Legends of Tomorrow won’t be back for a few weeks. On February 12, it’ll take over Supergirl‘s 8pm, Monday night slot spot for 9 weeks (which is the rest of its season run). And then, on April 16, Supergirl returns for the remainder of its season (ending on June 18). As The CW announced, it’ll be 23 consecutive weeks of new Supergirl/Legends episodes, which is pretty cool.
