What To Watch – Tuesday, April 17, 2018

Black Lightning gives us its Season 1 finale and I’m sure it’ll be troubling and leave us wanting answers in Season 2. Elsewhere, Legion holds our Top Pick of the night because we can’t get enough of this show.  Other interesting choices tonight include Shadowhunters (has this show become too focused on Malec?), RiseNCIS, The Flash and a new docu-series from Nat Geo on the story of the Hitler Youth.

8pm Hour:

(Freeform/John Medland)

1st Choice:   Shadowhunters.  “Someone is out to get Simon and Jace is on the hunt to find out who it is, meanwhile Clary turns to Luke to find a way to help Jace. Alec worries about the future of his relationship after learning more about Magnus’ romantic past.” Freeform

2nd  Choice:   The Flash.  “When Barry and Team Flash find a way to enter The Thinker’s lair, Ralph considers crossing a dangerous line to defeat DeVoe. Meanwhile, Joe is concerned by Harry’s recent behavior.” The CW

3rd Choice:  NCIS.  “NCIS searches for a petty officer suspected of assault who escapes when the sheriff transporting him crashes into a lake. Also, Torres works closely with Annie Barth, a key blind witness who heard vital evidence needed to solve the case.”   NBC

9pm Hour:

1st Choice:    Black Lightning.  “The Season 1 finale: The aftermath of the showdown with Black Lightning leaves everyone reeling. Meanwhile, Tobias gathers his forces.”  The CW

2nd Choice:  Rise.  “As Lou’s vision for “Spring Awakening” starts to crumble, Lilette and Robbie feel the weight of responsibility on their shoulders with rehearsals going into overdrive. In reaching out to a student in need of support, Tracey opens up old wounds from her own past. Gwen starts down a destructive path that threatens to disrupt Gordy’s attempts at self control, while Simon takes steps to get closer to Anabelle.” NBC

3rd Choice:   Hitler Youth.  Nat geo does some wonderful WWII docu-shows and this looks like another fascinating foray into Hitelr’s warped mind.  “Series premiere: In 1930s Germany, the Nazi Party created the Hitler Youth to indoctrinate children and adolescents with Nazi ideology and prepare them to become a child army for Hitler.” Nat Geo

10pm Hour:

1st Choice:   Legion.  “David navigates the maze.” FX

2nd Choice:   Hitler Youth. Episode 2 of this new series follows the premiere. “Emerging in the 1920s, the hitlerjugen, the youth movement of the Nazi Party, served Hitler fanatically. Hundreds of these young soldiers would be captured by the Allies and sent into camps, in some cases for almost three years.” Nat Geo

3rd Choice:    For the People. “Allison defends a man accused of stealing supplies intended for victims of a devastating island hurricane and goes up against Celia Chavez, a tough Assistant U.S. Attorney for whom losing is not an option. Sandra defends a peculiar client accused of assault, but with an altered view of reality and on the other side, Kate is being sought after by an ATF agent in need of legal advice for an unlikely suspect.” ABC
