“Rituals” (Episode 102)
October 2, 2018
I’ve been waiting anxiously for Episode 2 of New Amsterdam ever since the final minutes of the Pilot. I have so many questions racing through my mind about how Dr. Max Goodwin is going to handle his cancer diagnosis and his duties to his wife, the hospital, and the doctors who expect him to lead them?!? Once again, New Amsterdam didn’t disappoint and should be THE must watch show on everyone’s list this Fall.
Catch up on what happened in the Series Premiere last week with my recap and review here!
In last week’s episode, we were introduced to some of the passengers on Montego Air Flight 828:
Michaela Stone: officer whose fiancé married her best friend while she was missing, Ben’s sister
Ben Stone: Michaela’s brother and father to Cal
Cal Stone: Ben’s son, Leukemia patient – condition hasn’t changed in 5 years due to the flight, treatment from Saanvi’s research may cure him
Saanvi Bahl: Doctor, working on cancer research, led the breakthrough on cancer treatment 5 years prior, right before the flight
The passengers of Flight 828 experienced a bit of turbulence on the flight and landed 5 years into the future. Ben and Michaela started hearing voices, which helped them solve a crime. Now, they are trying to make sense of these powers while trying to fit back into society. Catch the entire recap & review of the pilot here.
Manifest is a new (sci-fi? sci-fi-esque?) drama from creator Jeff Rake (The Mysteries of Laura ) on NBC, about a routine flight that experiences some turbulence. When the plane lands, the passengers find themselves 5 years into the future. The passengers on board haven’t aged at all and now they must adapt to a society that moved on without them.
