El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie will premiere on Netflix on October 11, 2019. No word yet if they will put the film into theaters for a limited run (making it Oscars eligible).  Below is the official synopsis from Netflix:

Official Synopsis:

“The Netflix Television Event EL CAMINO: A BREAKING BAD MOVIE reunites fans with Jesse Pinkman (Emmy-winner Aaron Paul).  In the wake of his dramatic escape from captivity, Jesse must come to terms with his past in order to forge some kind of future.  This gripping thriller is written and directed by Vince Gilligan, the creator of Breaking Bad.

“The movie is produced by Mark Johnson, Melissa Bernstein, Charles Newirth, Diane Mercer and Aaron Paul, in association with Sony Pictures Television.”

Eagle Eyed fans will notice that there is no mention if Jesse Pinkman’s longtime Breaking Bad meth making partner, Walter White (Bryan Cranston), will be making an appearance or any of the other colorful cast members from the beloved and critically acclaimed series (well, other than Skinny Pete, obviously).

That being said, I think it’s safe to assume Walter White HAS to appear in some sort of flashback sequence (Walter is dead in the present timeline) and the fan boy in me has to think that Saul Goodman (Bob Odenkirk) will also appear (Saul is alive and in hiding in the present timeline – as fans of Better Call Saul will be aware).

Teaser Trailer:

Netflix released a teaser trailer for the movie.  Skinny Pete (Charles Baker) is in some sort of interrogation room and answering an unheard question surrounding the current whereabouts of Jesse Pinkman. Skinny Pete denies know where he is and even if he did, he says he wouldn’t say. Why? Because Skinny Pete saw news on the “cage” where Jesse was being kept in order to force him to “keep cooking.” It seems that Jesse escaped this cage and is in the wind … and presumably a lot of people are looking for him now. The Full Trailer Below.
