What To Watch Tonight – Monday, December 31, 2018
What To Watch Tonight? Well, it’s New Year’s Eve; time to ring in the new year! The final night of 2018 is filled with New Year’s Eve specials and festivities everywhere you look. The rest of the space is filled with marathons including The Twilight Zone on Syfy (including 2 of my favorite episodes at 9!), The Walking Dead on AMC and Doctor Who on BBC America!
For us at PCR, we grew up on Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve on ABC and so we continue that tradition with the Ryan Seacrest hosted event. But, you can catch other specials on NBC, Fox and CNN, to name a few. Also on, a ton of College Football Bowl Games.
8pm Hour
2nd Choice: iHeartRadio Music Festival Night 2. “Performers include Panic! At the Disco, Mariah Carey, Shawn Mendes and Kygo. Ryan Seacrest hosts.” The CW
3rd Choice: Doctor Who. “The Doctors embark on their greatest adventure through space and time. In the present, something terrible awakes in London’s National Gallery, and in 1562 a murderous plot is afoot in Elizabethan England.” BBC America
9pm Hour
2nd Choice: iHeartRadio Music Festival Night 2. Continues on The CW.
3rd Choice: The Twilight Zone. Two of my favorite Twilight Zones air in the 9pm hour: William Shatner in “Nightmare at 20,000 Feet” and Burgess Meredith in “Time Enough at Last.” Syfy
10pm Hour
1st Choice: Dick Clark’s Primetime New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest 2019 – Part 1. Continues on ABC.
2nd Choice: New Year’s Eve. “Carson Daly and Chrissy Teigen, along with Leslie Jones, host the New Year’s celebration from NYC’s Times Square. Slated performers include Diana Ross, Kelly Clarkson, Andy Grammer, John Legend and Blake Shelton; and, from Nashville, Keith Urban.” NBC
3rd Choice: A Killer New Year. “A fight between Rob and Colleen McKernan breaks out on New Year’s Eve, and ends with one of them dead. As police put the pieces together, friends and family wonder if their relationship was doomed from the start.” ID
