In last week’s episode of NOS4A2, Vic fled her parents who were fighting (again). Crossing the Shorter Way, she found herself in Here, Iowa where she met Maggie Lee, Scrabble tile reading Medium extraordinaire! Maggie explains the basics of Vic’s power and gives her a general overview of the enemy Vic has been chosen to face, “The Wraith.” However, Vic isn’t ready to be chosen for anything yet and heads home. Speaking of Charlie Manx, our immortal villain recruits Bing Partridge and gives him the highlight, elevator pitch of what Charlie is trying to accomplish. Adding to her troublesome parents and outsider school status, Vic learns she has a special power, she’s able to find lost things via a bridge that appears to her in her time of need. On the other side of the coin, we also met Charlie Manx, an immortal, vampire type man, who kidnaps children and somehow saps their life force to keep himself preternaturally young. On Sunday, June 2, 2019, AMC launches its newest series, NOS4A2, a (different kind of) vampire horror genre show, based on the Joe Hill novel of the same name.
The ten-episode series was adapted for television by Jami O’Brien (Fear the Walking Dead; Hell on Wheels), who also acts as the showrunner (and is an executive producer, as well), and stars Ashleigh Cummings (The Goldfinch) and Zachary Quinto (Star Trek; American Horror Story). The supporting cast includes Jahkara “JJ” Smith, Ólafur Darri Ólafsson, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Virginia Kull, Jamie Neumann, and Darby Camp.
