What To Watch – Wednesday, January 24, 2018

Wednesdays don’t get any better than magic up front and history in the back. All new The Librarians leads into new The Magicians.  For a different flavor, there is now Vikings followed by new Knightfall on History Channel.  Coming in from left field, the series premiere of Waco, on CMT.

8pm Hour:

1st Choice:  The Librarians.   “When Jenkins body-switches with a 28-year-old slacker named Jeff, he must find his way back into the Library to correct the mistake. But he will need a team to do it, and enlists the help of Jeff’s hapless Dungeons & Dragons friends.”  TNT

2nd Choice:   Vikings.   Ahead of tonight’s new outing, watch last week’s episode.  History

3rd Choice: Riverdale.   “Amidst preparations for the town’s annual Picken’s Day festivities, Jughead interviews Toni’s grandfather and learns some shocking details about Riverdale’s history. In an attempt to get closer to Hiram, Archie tries out for the Riverdale wrestling team after learning of Hiram’s love of the sport. Meanwhile, Betty unearths some dark secrets about her brother Chic, and Veronica and Josie clash as they prepare for their Picken’s Day performance.” The CW

9pm Hour:

1st Choice:  The Magicians.  “Alice and Quentin visit her parents as Kady and Julia explore new methods to heal Penny.”  Syfy

2nd Choice:   Vikings.   “A sense of doom looms over Kattegat as bloodshed ensues, but as the defeated army flees in the face of the victors, a legendary warrior makes his way home.”  History

3rd Choice:  Dynasty.   Let’s catch up with this dysfunctional family drama … “When Fallon is taken hostage, the rest of the family must come together to enact a rescue mission—but coming together isn’t exactly what Carringtons do best. Out of desperation, Culhane turns to Jeff Colby for help, while Cristal is forced to choose between her old family and her new one.”  CBS

10pm Hour:

1st Choice:  Knightfall.   “The Paris temple of the Knights Templar is under siege; De Nogaret casts doubt in King Philip’s mind; Queen Joan must decide what is best for Navarre.” History

2nd Choice:  Secrets of the Dead.  “A scientific team is granted access by the Egyptian government to solve a 4,500-year-old mystery involving the Great Pyramid at Giza.” PBS

3rd Choice:   Waco.   “In the series premiere, the ATF gets a tip of suspicious activity involving weapons taking place among a small religious community led by David Koresh and located at the Mount Carmel Center just outside of Waco, Texas” CMT
