What To Watch – Monday, February 5, 2018

Monday nights aren’t the same with new The Brave on but we must, we will, soldier on.  We still have a new episode of our current fave psychological thriller, The Alienist (make sure you have read our latest deep dive recap of last week’s episode before you watch tonight), as well as new episodes of Supergirl, Scorpion and The Good Doctor.  Out of the norm, we are looking at a documentary on Silk Road (of Dark Web fame). All in all, a fun filled night of TV.

I’d be remiss not to mention the fact that the Winter Olympics begin on Thursday and so expect lots of coverage on that from us (we love the Olympics) and in fact, NBC is doing a preview hour of the Americans to watch at the games, but, as we have other things we’d rather watch tonight at 10, it didn’t make our recommend list.

1st Choice:   The Alienist.   Moore was in a bad way when we left off last week, let’s see what happens .. “Innovative evidence leads the team to discover a crucial element in the case has gone missing. Kreizler and Moore interview a witness to find out what happened to Moore at the Brothel. Sara attempts to live in a world outside the investigation. Kreizler challenges them to look within themselves.”  TNT

2nd Choice:   Silk Road: Drugs, Death, & The Dark Web.  The saga of Silk Road put the “Dark Web” on the map, as it were, and so this is a fascinating documentary on what it really was all about … “A sensational black market website known as the “Silk Road” emerged on the dark net. Promising its users complete anonymity and total freedom from government regulation or scrutiny, Silk Road became a billion-dollar digital drugs cartel.” A&E

3rd Choice: Alaska: The Last Frontier: The Frozen Edge.  Hour Two: “Harsh Alaskan weather batters the Kilchers after the earthquake and puts commodities that are vital for survival at stake.” Animal Planet

1st Choice:   Scorpion.   “On Valentine’s Day, Team Scorpion must set aside their romantic plans to help a doctor and pilot trapped inside a helicopter that crashed atop a skyscraper. Also, Toby and Happy wait for news on their fertility results, and Sylvester realizes that he may have feelings for Florence.” CBS

2nd Choice: Silk Road: Drugs, Death, & The Dark Web. Continues on A&E

3rd Choice:  The Good Doctor.  “Dr. Shaun Murphy is surprised to learn that his young cancer patient identifies as a girl while being biologically male. Shaun must quickly learn to understand his patient, her medical needs and how to work with her family, who all feel they know what is best for her.” ABC
