October 22, 2018

From Sony Pictures Consumer Products, Ghost Corps, publisher FourThirtyThree Inc. (4:33), and developer Next Age, Gostbusters World is a new mobile AR game, available for free download on iOS and Android. Available on October 22, 2018, Ghostbusters World lets YOU strap on a proton pack and be a Ghostbuster! Using cutting edge AR mapping and GPS location technology, Ghostbusters World lets you battle and trap iconic ghosts from the Ghostbusters franchise. The game has several different game play options which also includes an easy to use RPG-style, turn based battle system. In PVP mode, you can pit your ghosts against other real world ghostbusters. Who has the best ghosts? Who is best at busting? Settle it here, in Ghostbusters World!

For those that don’t know, “AR” means augmented reality. Still lost? An Augmented Reality game is one that places the video and audio of the game in the player’s real world environment. Using GPS location technology and your smartphone’s camera function, the player experiences a game where the objects in the game are placed into the real world on a map that is your real world location. The best known example of AR mobile gaming, before Ghostbusters World, is Pokemon GO, the smash hit from Niantic.

So strap on your Proton Pack, jump in Ecto-1 and let’s go bust some ghosts! …

Wingardium Gamesiosa Podcast
“Episode 101: Overwatch Healers”
February 7, 2018

Welcome to Wingardium Gamesiosa, our new weekly (ish) podcast where your hosts, Mike and Tom, will discuss all things nerdy like video games, Fantasy, Sci Fi and Superhero movies, TV and books, Pokemon & Yu Gi Oh! card games … pretty much anything that we find entertaining that we think you’d enjoy too.

In the premiere episode, Tom and Mike discuss their current obsession, Overwatch. Specifically, they walk you through their (not at all) scientific list of the Best and Worst Healers in the game and fantasize about what they’d liked to see different in certain character abilities.  Tom, in particular, would like to see some more sprint abilities added …

We’re still working out the kinks so forgive any issues in sound, mixing and editing – you’re witnessing our live experiment — but overall, we hope you are as amused by our ramblings as we were while recording it.

This. Is Wingardium Gamesiosa!

REVIEW — Assassin’s Creed: Origins

Q&A Corner
Video Game Review:
Assassin’s Creed: Origins
By: Skippy Midnight

Assassin’s Creed: Origins was released on October 27, 2017 and the hype just doesn’t stop. Since the initial leak in January of 2016, I have been waiting and on the edge of my seat for the announcement and release of the newest edition to the franchise. After Ubisoft took a year off due to their most recent entries lacking depth and story, they have given birth to a new era of how to play AC; the RPG style brings a breath of fresh air to their games.

Assassin’s Creed Origins may never replace Ezio and Assassin’s Creed II, but here are some things you should know and reasons Origins is perhaps one of the best games releasing this Fall.

Pass or Play? Highly Recommend Play. The open world RPG environment together with a completely revamped combat system and character leveling, makes this 10th major installment in the Assassin’s Creed family, a must play  for any fan of the series and a great entry title for new players alike.  Assassin’s Creed Origins is available on PS4, PS4 Pro, Xbox One, PC, and Xbox One X.
