What To Watch – Sunday, July 8, 2018

With all new Preacher and Succession, Summer Sunday Nights were already great for TV. Add in the series premiere of Sharp Objects, the newest show from HBO and one of the most anticipated of the Summer, and you’ve got a bonafide Night of Great TV!!

8pm Hour:

1st Choice:  Big Brother.  “The new Head of Households takes power and nominates two Houseguests for eviction. Hosted by Julie Chen.” CBS

2nd Choice:  A Wedding and A Murder.  “An anniversary getaway for a couple of high school sweethearts turns disastrous when they become victims of a robbery gone wrong. Homicide investigators unravel a lurid secret at the heart of the murder, leading them to a stone cold killer.” Oxygen

3rd Choice:  Celebrity Family Feud.  “Jeff Dunham and family vs. Ming-Na Wen and family; and Taye Diggs and family vs. Caroline Rhea and family.” ABC

9pm Hour:

1st Choice:  Sharp Objects.  “In the series premiere, St. Louis Chronicle reporter Camille Preaker returns to her rural hometown of Wind Gap, Mo., to file a story about two missing girls, one of whom was found dead and presumed murdered. The assignment, which reunites Camille with her overbearing mother, Adora, brings back traumatic childhood memories, including the death of her younger sister, Marian, when both were schoolgirls.” HBO

2nd Choice: The $100,000 Pyramid.  “Adam Rodriguez vs. Erika Christensen; and Rob Riggle vs. Lauren Ash.” ABC

3rd Choice:  Food Network Star.  “With the field narrowed to six finalists, the group goes Hollywood for their first challenge as they whip up dishes inspired by characters from “Hotel Transylvania 3: Summer Vacation.” Fran Drescher, who voices Eunice in the movie, guest stars.” Food

10pm Hour:

1st Choice:   Preacher.  “While Jesse works to pay back his debt to Gran’ma, Tulip and Cassidy risk their safety as they formulate their own plans to get out of Angelville.” AMC

2nd Choice:  Succession.  “With the vote of no confidence against Logan imminent, Roman tries to sway a neutral board member, while Kendall frantically shores up his “yea” votes. Meanwhile, Logan arrives in Washington to meet with the president, but worries he’s been snubbed following a last-minute cancellation; after successfully thwarting a potential scandal, Tom introduces Greg to fine dining; and Shiv explores her options in D.C.” HBO

3rd Choice:  Shades of Blue.  “Harlee focuses her sights on taking down the intelligence unit. Stahl’s continued obsession brings him closer to New York. Wozniak uses Wallace as Espada struggles with keeping secrets from Tufo.” NBC
