8pm Hour:

1st Choice: Supergirl.  Tonight, we meet DC Villain Psi, who has psychic powers and isn’t afraid to use them for evil.  We also get to see more of Samantha (a/k/a Rein). I’m sure we’ll grow to love her until we have to hate her.  Damn you show!  The CW

2nd Choice: The Big Bang Theory and 9JKL. The CBS veteran and freshman comedies provide you your nightly dosage of Monday night yucks. CBS

3rd Choice: Pick Your Sportsball Tonight:  Monday Night Football (Indianapolis Colts v. Tennessee Titans) (ESPN) OR Baseball Playoff: Game 3 of Houston Astros v. New York Yankees (FS1)

9pm Hour:

1st Choice: The Gifted.  The grittier, freshman Marvel series continues tonight as the Struckers continue to get back to each other and their kids begin to really use their powers. Fox

2nd Choice: Valor.  Sure, you can sum this show up as “Sexy Helicopter Times” but the pilot episode introduced an intriguing a plotline hinting as some kind of cover-up wherein maybe American citizens are maybe being renditioned in special operation missions? Expect the plot to thicken tonight for Gallo and Madani as they also try to avoid having sex with each other. But really, its better than that sentence made it sound.   The CW

3rd Choice: Still the sportsball of your choosing On ESPN or FS1

10pm Hour:

1st Choice: The Brave. Tonight’s episode features an American soldier who has turned to terrorism, a terrifying concept in the world we live in today.  NBC

2nd Choice: Scorpion. Team Scorpion is exposed to toxic vapor in the line of duty. I haven’t noticed a drop off in quality of Scorpion other wishing we didn’t have couples on the team, but Cancel Bear seems very worried about this smart, witty, CBS drama.  CBS

3rd Choice: The Good Doctor. If you haven’t caught Freddie Highmore’s portrayal of Shaun Murphy, a young, genius surgeon who happens to have autism.  Well, not happens to have. Shaun’s autism and how it affects his ability to function in the high stress world of surgery is basically what this show is about. But, its extremely well done and Highmore is fantastic.  Toby Ziegler (Richard Schiff’s character from West Wing? Anyone? Anyone?) as a hospital administrator is a bonus.  ABC
