Typical Tuesday night fare with The Flash, Black Lightning, Bellevue and Drunk History, rounding out our favorite picks.

Monday Nights are a great time for TV; with the addition of Good Girls (and maybe McMafia, we’re adding it to our test bubble list) in the 10pm slot, we continue to have multiple quality dramas in that hour; The Alienist continues to be supreme entertainment in the 9pm hour and at 8pm, DC’s Legends of Tomorrow have a bunch more episodes before their season runs dry.
Before you watch The Alienist tonight, make sure you’re caught up on all of the explosive action from last week’s episode with our Deep Dive Recap & Review Here!
Not on the official What To Watch cause its really niche but the final 3 original episodes of Star Wars: Rebels airs tonight on Disney XD, beginning at 8:30pm. Time to say goodbye to Ezra and the crew of the Ghost.
Listen, we hate award shows but you do a Movie and TV related website, you cannot really ignore the Oscars; Dumpster Fire though it may be. So, below, the list of Winners for the 90th Academy Awards, which was hosted by Jimmy Kimmel.
For what its worth, I went 4 for 9 on the categories I wagered on. I underestimated greatly the power of a fish love story.
For being Marvel fans, we sure watch a LOT of DC properties here at PCR and tonight is no different with all new Gotham (mid-season premiere) and Arrow. Different channels but same great brooding DC superheroes (without any actual super powers).
Also on, the premiere of Showtime at the Apollo, Impractical Jokers and the 1986 comedy classic, Back to School, starring Rodney Dangerfield.
Earlier today, Syfy announced that The Magicians has been renewed for a Season 4, set to air in 2019. The show, which is based on a series of best selling novels by Lev Grossman, is currently in the middle of its third season, and, at least according to us here at Pop Culture Review, is busy breaking new ground in TV storytelling and destroying the notion that a show about magic can’t also be serious, well produced drama.
We typically don’t cover too much TV news here at PCR but as The Magicians is one of the shows we cover week to week with our deep dive recaps, it was newsworthy enough to us.
The Magicians airs Wednesday nights at 9pm(ET) and stars Jason Ralph, Stella Maeve, Olivia Taylor Dudley, Hale Appleman, Arjun Gupta, Summer Bishil, Rick Worthy, Jade Tailor, Brittany Curran and Trevor Einhorn. The series was adapted for TV by John McNamara and Sera Gamble and is executive produced by McNamara, Gamble, Chris Fisher and Groundswell Productions’ Michael London and Janice Williams.
Not a lot going on tonight in volume but in quality, tonight’s The Magicians is the place to be. There is a 9 minute sequence in tonight’s episode that I guarantee you, you have never seen on TV on before and its amazing. This show continues to be bold and original in its storytelling which is first rate on all levels from writing to direction to superb acting. A++
Superhero Tuesdays are back!! In our continuing post-Olympics after glow, we’re feeling rejuvenated and ready for new episodes of our Favorite Shows. Tonight, we have new The Flash, Black Lightning (our Top Pick of the Night) and in the 10pm hour, we’re officially moving Bellevue into our 1st place slot – I’ve enjoyed the season so far and its worth giving it the eyeballs so maybe it gets a Season 2.
Our long national nightmare of the Winter Olympics is over and our regular programming can now continue. Like the first signs of Spring, all of TV is returning to new episodes this week. The Alienist, DC’s Legends of Tomorrow and the series premiere of Good Girls are our Top Picks To Watch Tonight with The Alienist being the most important of all of them!
Only 2 more days of these Winter Olympic Games and then we can get our TV back. And not a moment too soon. Also on Sunday, the return of The Walking Dead which we’re very excited about BUT before we can get to any of that? We need to figure out What To Watch, tonight … which, there isn’t much. We’re going with Hunt for Red October and ELeague but mostly the Olympics I guess. Thought I feel it sucking the life force out my body.
